Sterling Aviation High School Magnet Program

The Sterling Aviation High School Magnet Program delivers a rigorous, career-focused educational experience aligned to Texas Career and Technical Education (CTE) endorsement pathways, with a specialized emphasis on Aviation, Aerospace, Engineering, Business, and Skilled Trades. Students engage in sequenced coursework that integrates academic instruction with hands-on, industry-based learning. Through project-based instruction, industry partnerships, and credential-aligned training, students develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional behaviors required for success in high-demand, high-skill career fields.
 

The Magnet Program emphasizes measurable student outcomes, including industry certifications, dual-credit coursework, workforce readiness skills, and postsecondary placement. Students graduate with CTE endorsements, career portfolios, and experience in collaboration, leadership, and technical performance. By integrating Fine Arts, Health, and Physical Education, the program supports whole-student development while preparing graduates for college enrollment, military service, apprenticeships, and direct entry into the workforce. Sterling Aviation High School equips students with the skills, credentials, and confidence to succeed in both postsecondary education and 21st-century careers.

- FAA General Aviation Safety Awareness

- FAA Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Part 107 (where applicable)

Engineering & Technology

- Autodesk Certified User (AutoCAD / Fusion / Inventor)

- OSHA-10 General Industry Certification

Skilled Trades & Technical Pathways

- NCCER Core Certification

- NCCER Welding Level I (if applicable)

Business & Professional Skills

- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS)
