Law Enforcement CTE Program — Sterling Aviation Early College High School

The Law Enforcement Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program at Sterling Aviation Early College High School is a structured, real-world career pathway designed to introduce students to the fields of law enforcement, public safety, corrections, and criminal justice. This pathway blends rigorous classroom instruction with practical skills, career exploration, and opportunities for certifications and advanced study that prepare students to pursue careers in public safety, legal services, or continue their education in college and beyond. 

Program Focus & Experience
Students in the Law Enforcement program gain a deep understanding of how local, state, and federal law enforcement systems operate, including constitutional law, criminal law, legal terminology, and the classification of crimes. Coursework focuses on essential topics such as public safety principles, policing philosophies, crime prevention, investigative procedures, and ethical decision-making — all grounded in the framework of legal and justice systems. 

Certifications & College Pathways
Throughout the pathway, students may have the opportunity to pursue industry-based certifications such as Emergency Telecommunicator (ETC) or Non-Commissioned Security Officer credentials, which bolster resumes and enhance post-secondary readiness. Some courses may also offer dual credit options, enabling students to earn college credits while still in high school — giving them a head start toward degrees in criminal justice, law, or related fields.
