Principal Tannisha Gentry leads our Raider community with a blend of academic excellence and hands-on learning. Since joining Sterling, she has cultivated a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment, revamping the dress code, strengthening attendance support, and strategically deploying staff so that every student has the support they need to succeed.
An Accomplished Leader
A former Houston ISD classroom teacher turned veteran administrator, Ms. Gentry is driven by data-informed instruction and strong professional learning teams. Her collaborative, “in the trenches” style empowers educators to craft engaging, standards-aligned lessons that ready students for success in college, careers, and beyond.
Preparing Raiders for the Future
Leveraging Sterling’s renowned Aviation Magnet and Early College offerings, Principal Gentry forges partnerships with industry and higher-education institutions to broaden dual-credit options and flight training opportunities. Her unwavering goal: that every graduate leaves not only with a diploma, but with the real-world skills, certifications, and confidence to navigate their path.
